Textures

Ruffles from a silk tank and a black quilted jacket add textures to a rather simple outfit. There's just something about neutral colours that scream autumn. I know I said previously that I like to add a pop of colour to my outfits, but sometimes it's better to fly under the radar.

Orange Aztec

Autumn is finally here and I ain't liking it one bit! It's extra difficult to get out of bed, as if it wasn't already.. But I know I'll be trying to stay warm with many layers, a thick scarf and some boots. Since it's autumn, everyone is opting for neutral colours but I always like to add a pop of colour or print to my outfit to add some life to the gloomy weather. Hence, my bright orange scarf.

Catch Up

Since I have been missing in action, here's a little update! Been real busy with uni and all that comes with it, like running errands to make sure I don't run out of food or necessities during the week. And spending some time with my boyfriend. Feels like we've been doing long distance for so long and I'm just so glad that I get to see him more often now :)
The new accessory that I've been sporting that I got for a steal about $3? I got 3 necklaces for $10, so I think I hit the jackpot on that! Haha.

How about an update on the Melbourne weather? It has been crazy the past few weeks. A loooooong heat wave with the scorching sun. Sun burnt a little here and there. And this week temperatures dropped with some rain here and there. And just as you think it's time to break out the sweaters, it slowly climbs back up again. Well, that's Melbourne's weather for you.

I've been getting back into my cooking groove but I find it SO hard to decide what to make for dinner. I actually prefer going out for a meal now. I just really don't like washing dishes.
Beautiful fresh carnations from the market for my older sister's last day in Melbourne. We planned a surprise farewell/ early birthday get together for her last week with the flowers, balloons, candles and cupcakes. The whole she-bang. And boy was she surprised.

Anyway, back to what I was supposed to be doing an hour ago.. studying. I'll be back!

Erin Fetherston Pre-Fall 2013

Source: Pinterest
As you all know I'm a Pinterest addict, I'm not ashamed of it! I was just scrolling through and I came across Erin Fetherston's Pre-Fall collection. And I must say, fall usually is all about the neutral tones with all the autumn leaves falling off the trees. But this collection is all about colour! I am totally in love and want everything from this collection! It's feminine and the silhouettes and prints are subtle but not too over the top. Sadly, I have no idea how to get my hands on these since I'm currently in Malaysia.

And look at the flowers! I really love the fresh flowers in the background that let everything pop out from the screen. I mean who doesn't like flowers.

PS: I apologise for the lack of updates. And HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! (I wish I had these clothes for the New Year) and Happy Belated Valentine's Day! Hope everyone had an eventful holiday.

Green with Envy

It's been a long time since I blogged about my clothes. On one fine day, the sun was shouting hello world! Usually I would wear a pair of shorts out since it's so hot, but now I understand why people say if they want to feel comfortable all they do is slip into their favourite jeans! I tend to lean towards my jeans recently. They're just so comfortable!

Anyway, my top is from Sungai Wang, jeggings from Uniqlo, clutch from Typo and shoes from Cotton On.

P.s: I've had yee sang 5 times already. I love Chinese New Year!

Work It!

These are some of the outfits that I've put together for the past week. I didn't get to take pictures of all the outfits I've worn to work, but so far what I've worn to work are the bottom two pictures. Tried adding a little colour and prints into my work outfits. Mostly colour. Haha. My bottoms are always black. Black skirts, black pants.

I'll try to take more pictures of my outfits! I promise I will :) I'll update you guys more on my outfits.

Green Hardware

Sometime's I like to take a step back from the feminine side of me and take an edgier turn. Thought that a little hardware on my clothes would help me do that. Instead of going too edgy with those spikes that I see everywhere, I thought maybe this was a subtle way of doing that.

The hardware detailing on the sleeves just added a little something to my otherwise plain green top. I think, details of an outfit really pull everything together. And besides, I thought I'd pay homage to my primary school green house, since I don't have many green clothes.

Shades of Nude

I would say that I'm kind of a simple girl. And I guess that does reflect the way I dress. Look! Three very basic colours that match easily with most colours. Nude, pink and black.

I found the nude romper while online shopping years ago. And I put on a black blazer to prevent myself from looking obscene! Looked like I was wearing nothing but a belt! The blazer is from Hong Kong and I love how it has a structured shoulder. The belt is vintage from my mom's closet.

Pink Frills

Went with a minimalistic feminine look today while out with my boyfriend. No jewelry, nothing! The top is from Forever 21 which I got for a steal! Only RM30. It has two layers of frills, which I like. It adds a very feminine touch to a plain top. Sort of peplum-esque? Paired it with some black jeggings and a clutch.

On another note, my parents are coming back from Melbourne tomorrow! YAY! *Reunited and it feels so gooood!*

Stripes

Sometimes, you want to wear something simple and comfortable to run errands in. Today, I did just that. I wore a black striped dress from H&M and used a Guess bag my mom bought many years ago. I think the bag added a little attitude to what would've been a boring outfit.

When I was browsing through H&M, I saw the dress and knew I had to try it on. It was simple but I think every girl needs a striped dress, or two. I liked the sleeves with the slight low back. The dress has pretty good quality since it's only RM39.90. But it was a tad bit loose around the tummy area as you can see. I didn't mind it though. I thought the extra fabric may come in handy in case I stuff my face with delicious food. Haha.

Plain & Simple

This is a simple outfit I put together. Worn countless times. I decided to make a plain outfit more polished with some accessories.

A plain white chiffon shirt, bad and necklace from eBay (yup, I do quite a fair bit of my shopping on eBay) and jean shorts I transformed myself from an old pair of jeans. The watch is from Fossil from my boyfriend, turquoise bracelet made by my cousin and black cuff from Hong Kong.

Accessories can pull a simple outfit together and I'm slowly learning to embrace accessories. I'll try improve my "arm swag", so they call it. Haha. Maybe more than 3 next time?

Floral and Camel

My cousin had a casual pre-wedding dinner yesterday night. I went with a black outfit with some floral accents and a touch of camel. The top and shoes are from Cotton On. The clutch is from Typo. Although, I think it's supposed to be a pouch, it goes great as a clutch too. I'm wearing a pair of jeggings from Uniqlo.

I always have a problem finding jeans, it's either too tight around the thighs or too loose at them bum. I've given up looking for jeans after finding these. Some people have something against jeggings, but I say they're the best! They hug you in all the right places. I already have 2 pairs and they're so comfy! I could wear them all day and night! Besides, they don't even look like jeggings.

So, what do you guys think about jeggings? Yay or nay?
