Inspiration: Minerals

Currently obsessed with minerals. The different shapes and textures that for each mineral. No one mineral has the same shape. I mean, look at the colours! So many different shades.

During the semester, I picked up a pendant made out of agate, from Victoria Market for only AUD$5. I have yet to find a nice chain to go with the pendant, which is rather sad cause I really want to wear the pendant so badly! I'll show it to you guys once I find a necklace to go with it.

V is for Video: Dandelion Time Lapse

Lovely time lapse video by Neil Bromhall. This video reminds me that such a small plant is just as beautiful as any other. Sometimes we just have to stop and smell the roses. I realised that the littlest things always makes me happiest. A small gesture can make someone's day.

If you're interested, you can check out his website to learn more about plants. Or you could visit his YouTube page for more time lapse videos.

Tummy Thrills: Mushroom Soup

IMG_0730
Mushroom soup is one of my comfort foods. I remember when I was younger (and now, even if I'm 20), when I fall sick, my mom used to heat up a can of Campbell's mushrooms soup, served with a few pieces of plain white bread. That was the best part of being sick! Mushroom soup! It was better than the tasteless porridge, which only reminded you that you were sick. The mushroom soup gave me a gentle reminder of all the tasty food that were to come once I got better.

On Tummy Thrills you can check out how we made mushroom soup from scratch. Mushroom soup isn't only for the sick. Hope you guys will try it cause it's not too hard to make. Plus, you can impress a few people when you proudly say "I made the soup from scratch!". You know what I mean? Haha. The recipe is over here.

Vertigo

Dressing in a tropical country while its autumn and winter in the fashion season is pretty tough, as all we get is rain or sunshine. All the stores will be selling clothes for autumn and winter while it's impractical to wear most of the clothes here. I'd still be buying them for my next winter in Melbourne.
Here I tried to bring autumn and winter to sunny Malaysia. I opted for a thin grey sweater and a pair of white shorts, since it was rather hot. A maroon hat to shade me from the sun, a statement necklace and a brown belt.

I put together a Polyvore set of my outfit. At least a more refined version of my outfit.

Inspiration: Birds

Source: Pinterest
I always had a fascination with birds. How they're so free flying everywhere, able to explore. Birds really are magical creatures. Their feathers come in all shapes, sizes and colours. It's like they're always in their best outfit. Dressed up all fancy heading out to a party. Look at the flamingo! Dressed the best even if it's sleeping. The ostrich with full lashes without trying too hard.

What creature inspires you?

Hello!

Hi guys! :)

Wow! This is really exciting cause I've really wanted to start this blog for quite some time now. Thought about the name, what I'd like to blog about and everything. But due to life's reality, its been tough juggling university and living in a new country. Since the semester is over, I've decided to put my thoughts into actions.

I'll be documenting my journey in life, discovering my style (hopefully more hits than misses), what I eat and my inspirations. Oh, and I have a food blog that I share with my sister, mainly about student friendly recipes that we've tried, Tummy Thrills. Feel free to check it out!

Well, hopefully you guys will join me on my journey!

Love, Yenn
